CONSUMERIST: AES ANOTHER MONEY SPINNING SCHEME, NOTHING MORE, NOTHING LESS!

The nations ‘intelligent people’ supposedly, have shared their latest ‘mantra’ and ‘justification’ that the just implemented, amidst protest from both sides of the political divide the Automatic Enforcement System (AES), is geared at catching speedsters and to reduce road accidents.

Basically, these rather ‘intelligent people’, supposedly the cream of Malaysia are really stating that it is basically speed as the root causes of accidents!

But strangely when ‘people of substandard intelligence’ like you and I, look at the statistics of accidents and study its background – we see that there were in 2005 a reported 31,222 casualties from motorcycle accidents, which basically constitutes to 66 percent of all traffic accidents in Malaysia!

Something these intelligent spin masters forgot to note!

Perhaps, those rather very ‘intelligent people’ also failed to have access to another reality – that a 2010 report by the police and Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (Miros) stated that there were 120,156 accidents involving motorcycles from the 9.4 million registered motorcycles.

Of this, there were 12,112 casualties with 3,614 rider fatalities and 422 pillion rider fatalities.

It does not end there as according to Miros, 3,523 accidents involved pedestrians in 2005, 12 percent of whom were children aged one to 18 years.

Gosh – this is turning out to be another fiasco!

Traffic enforcement is just not using the ‘big stick’ or treating it as a business preposition as it is tabled now with two private companies and their political handlers to gain massive profits and at whose name?

Since some ‘very intelligent personalities’ has cited developed nations like France, Germany, Australia, Singapore and the United States may I of substandard intelligence ask a rather pertinent question?

How many of these nations with a geographical area larger than Malaysia (except for Singapore!) have installed 800 AES cameras in place?

As for the Australian manufactured cameras – how many AES cameras have been placed in Australia?

I am advised by a family member in the city of Perth, Western Australia – only 4!

I do not despite not being so intelligent, as the proponents of these multi million ringgit cash cows disagree, that truly the AES is one of the elements of traffic management and accident prevention module.

But it is not the all – as we have others to look at and among them badly designed roads which are either too narrow, badly maintained, poor traffic management, congested, poorly synchronized traffic lights which result in even worst congestion, numerous bottlenecks especially on highways and exiting toll plazas especially the much abused federal highway – the mother of all screwed highways!

What about providing motorcycle lanes, pedestrian facilities, upgrading intersection designs, installing road and intersection lighting and proper signage – having speed limits implemented after a comprehensive study – not just ‘suka suka’ where within a 500 meter stretch we have 50, then 90 then 110?

But no!

We Malaysians of ‘smaller IQs and intelligence’ must put up with the official version and plenty of bullshit!

One should not ask because of our ‘lack of intelligence’ how these contracts were financially positioned?

We the ‘lesser intelligent’ should not ask whether contractors sought quotes from foreign vendors, then just tripled the costs and submitted the bids which they knew they were going to get because it is all politically motivated and positioned?

But never mind, they think we are after ‘all idiots!’

They think we should accept without query their a one sided argument ‘hook line and sinker.

‘They do not think it is pertinent to first fix our traffic management system and synchronize traffic lights!

They feel it is not necessary to maintain and fix roads to ensure proper conditions for traffic and reduce fatalities due to potholes and badly maintained roads.

The need like Singapore to remove ‘old junks’ off the road as they pose a significant traffic risk.

Or the need to re-look at the abuse of Police Outriders!

Yes, the police escorts disrupting traffic flow even for a bunch of idiots going to a football game, as we had this last week at Shah Alam!

And come to think of it – if our ministers & politicians want to be appreciated and respected, they should learn to identify with the peoples woes and experience the said jams with us!

As for now, my observation is many of the said AES cameras are installed in locations where you exit the highway where the speed is lower.

These are not accident prone areas but designed to catch as many motorists as possible.

And Yes – the main intention of the AES is to profit cronies not to reduce accidents.

I will not go into the allegations of the inflated costs of the cameras for now!

But public interest demands accountability!

And truly a civilized, cultured and matured society is exactly one that kicks up a fuss over unfair, unjust and unworthy causes, rules and blind spots.

And they have a right to ask the government to come clean IF they can do so for once!

If not, why fret, I will show my anger when GE13 comes along!

CONSUMERIST: SHOOTING A 14 YEAR OLD SCHOOL GIRL – MADNESS IN GOD’S NAME!

This brave 14-year-old Pakistani girl was shot in the head by Taliban gunmen last week and now is being flown to the UK for medical treatment!

Malala Yousafzai has until now been at a military hospital in Rawalpindi, with doctors saying her progress over the next few days would be “critical”.

The girl wrote a diary about suffering under the Taliban and was accused by them of “promoting secularism”.

The UK said Malala’s transfer followed London’s offer to help her in any way.

The Pakistani army said Ms Yousafzai’s trip was being sponsored by the United Arab Emirates.

A team of medics are accompanying the girl.

The plane carrying Malala Yousafzai has already left Pakistan. It is not clear where in the UK she is to be taken.

It is sad what one does in the name of the ALMIGHTY and all of us know the ALMIGHTY hates such crimes done IN HIS NAME!

Consumerist: International Talent Hunt Forays On The Tax Payers – Stripping Fact From Utter Bullshit And Fiction!

We are told a certain talent cooperation had completed its two-day outreach program in Australia with not one or two but ‘Alleluia’ – hundreds of Malaysians mulling the benefits of returning to seize employment and well-being opportunities available in Malaysia’s fast-developing economy.

We are told of a ‘good turnout’ of more than 60 Malaysian doctors and pharmacists working there, to listen to Health ministry policymakers of Malaysia’s 1Care concept which involved the integration of private and public health to achieve better and universal medical outcomes.

Did someone say ‘universal medical outcomes?’

Really? I must have missed something or perhaps it is just ‘sales talk’ to justify the million the government are pumping into that particular cooperation?

I am advised young doctors and specialists were told of a good income and that they would be working in international standard hospitals.

Yes – the policymaker had stated that it was an exciting time to work in Malaysia when research and working conditions in the health sector were developing at a rapid pace with overseas institutions offering help and calling for exchange of doctors and ideas in healthcare.

While others on the same funded trip added that some of the nations higher education centers were striving to be in the top 50 universities in the world and urged Malaysians abroad to contribute to the university’s progress.

Attendees were told of ‘plans’ for the future and suggested how the attendees could fit in.

Discussions centered on, among others, the process to return to Malaysia, such as registration, medical qualifications, schooling for children and income tax incentives.

Interestingly a professional networking dinner was also organized for more than 100 Malaysian professionals from various sectors such as finance, engineering, education, consulting as well as information and communication technology.

And of course it will not end here as millions of tax payers monies have gone in so it must be justified so more trips will be planned to other destinations like Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Auckland and Wellington and others around the world to attempt to lure qualified Malaysians already well settled there to return on many promises of heavenly bliss and places

I just wonder why so much emphasis is positioned and spent on those who have left our shores in the first place after having bitter experiences of many aspects while at the same time ignoring other talents who have shrived, struggled and singly managed to put the country on international footing especially in the field of surgery, and transplants?

While another young Malaysian born Australian registrar I am advised who returned left horrified at the manner he was treated without even taking his wages for the months worked!

Photo: Malaysian Health Ministry - Between Truth, Utter Bullshit And Fiction!

Perhaps like all news and political and commercial speeches that come out of Malaysian mouths – here too - one needs to shift to see how much of the ‘sales talk’ is absolute poppycock and utter bullshit and how much is the truth?

The State of a premier multi million ringgit hospital in Malaysia - This is the OT floor!

Note the leakages and broken roof - and - possible contamination!

As for the hospitals – million ringgit projects – several OT floors are despicable, in one roof collapsed, another build wrongly and still not fully operational and the last in the center – only GOD knows!

As for contracts, especially, Klang hospital security, is everything above board and who are the owners of that security company?

Perhaps like all news, political and commercial speeches that come out of Malaysian mouths – here too – one needs to shift to see how much of the ‘sales talk’ is absolute poppycock, utter bullshit, half truths and how much is the plain unadulterated truth?

Consumerist: Well Known 70’s Singer’s Sister Cons Single Mother!

Dato Jacob George

I LOST ALL TO CON WOMAN CRIES SINGLE MOTHER!

The con woman is 41 years old Punjabi, a daughter of a Temple priest in Perak, sister to a well known Malaysian singer of the 70’s, married and mother of three children.

Her victims usually alleged to be single women or single mothers who are targeted, religiously manipulated, their monies, properties disposed of with the help of insiders in banks, Ah Longs, money launderers, syndicates and unscrupulous lawyers!

The exposure came when a 55 year of victim managed to break free from the shackles of the con woman but at great costs!

Her personal documents, passport, academic credentials, monies, a vehicle stolen and a property worth more than half a million ‘sold’ through fraud with the aid and abetment of bank insiders, criminal syndicates, money launderers, and unscrupulous lawyers!

The victim herewith called ‘Madam G’ has reported to the Consumers Association of Subang and Shah Alam, Selangor (CASSA) that she has lost monies worth RM175,000.00, jewelry worth RM100,000.00, part payment monies from the fraudulent sale of her home at Sri Damansara charged to OCBC Bank RM247,000.00.

Madam G has made a Police Report at Sentul Police Station Report Number SG.BULOH/009026/12.

Madam G has also provided a full detailed dossier with relevant evidence, among them, copies of the con woman’s identity card, bounced cheques valued at RM1.6 million, bank passbook with proof of the various criminal and fraudulent entries of monies and withdrawals.

Madam G also has copies of the fraudulent Sale & Purchase Agreement where the con woman had attested the said document as the vendor of the said property!

Madam G also has taped conversations and a signed Statutory Declaration by the said con woman confessing to the entire saga after she was confronted.

If no action comes forth Madam G will lose her home through fraud!

She has meanwhile alerted the Registrar of Land in Selangor who has entered a Registrar’s caveat on the said property.

‘This is yet another classic case where there seems to be a concerted effort by various groups of people working in concert in a scheme to cheat consumers of their properties’ said CASSA Chief Dr Jacob George!

This is similar to another recent case where bank insiders, criminal syndicates, money launderers, and unscrupulous lawyers worked together to cheat unsuspecting consumers.

CASSA calls upon Ministry of Home Affairs and Bank Negara to conduct a comprehensive investigation of such allegations.

It is in the public interest to stop the acquiring of properties with syndicated and laundered monies or proceeds from criminal activities!

CASSA meanwhile calls upon the Police to immediately arrest the said con woman in this case before more fall as victims.

Consumerist: Who Benefits From AES – Private Sector Predators, The Govt Or Public Interest?

Dato Jacob George

Consumerist: Who Benefits From AES – Private Sector Predators, The Govt Or Public Interest?

Shocked beyond belief, as I am advised that there is a staggering and shocking figure of 63,558 offenses and rising by the day in day out, detected by 14 AES cameras in a span of over eight days.

If one is a calculating person, it all interestingly works out to about 4,539 offenses recorded per camera, and 567 offenses in a day which is a classic presentation for a new Guinness World record of sorts!

Yes! Malaysia boleh! :O)

I have been in the forefront of this issues from day one at the highest levels of discussions, consultation and feedbacks!

Something is really wrong again.

If the statistics are to be used as a barometer of sorts, has anyone had the intelligence, courage and public interest to ask a pertinent question what was the primary reason for such huge shocking figures?

Are we equating all of them to a phony excuse of Malaysian drivers doing all things against the Road Transport Act and speed limits, beating each and every traffic light?

The statistics does not make sense but it raises an important question?

Are we having AES to address excessive speeding, negligence, dangerous driving, protect public interest or the interest of new emerging predators who will be ‘laughing all the way to the bank’ for themselves and their ‘political handlers’ – if this figures continue to rise the manner it is – increasing public outcry!

As far as I am concerned – this is another carefully massaged – money making scheme when the most important question has not been addressed before this program was introduced!

For starters – have we addressed what I called the extremely outdated speed limits on many roads and highways throughout the nation that make nonsense of highway driving – period!

Yes, Mr/Ms Public Policy initiators – I am referring to the many parts of the nation’s road where the highways have speed limits of only 60km/h, when in reality, if adhered to, will slow down traffic and cause bottlenecks and massive jams – not to mention honking from angry drivers behind you and putting others in harm’s way!

It could even cause accidents, as drivers try to overtake drivers who strictly followed the speed limits. Take a drive on the NPE as a test – and you will see how ridiculous those speed limits are. Even 80km/h is far too slow for some sections.

From my observation, almost no drivers follow these ridiculously slow speed limits, and with thousands of cars using the roads every day, no wonder that the newly installed AES would have captured tens and thousands of these “offenders” .

Yes the AES works but for who?

Public interest, the government or those behind yet another ‘get rich scheme’ as some put it rather sarcastically!

So what does the Malaysian driver do – boycott the highways and take the train, buses and flights to avoid this newly installed insanity ?

If the agenda is to make money for private interest and not address dangerous driving – it is plain and simple – ‘have the courage’ to say it outright and stop these ‘bull shitting’ that it is to address public interest!

Or in mitigation – do the right thing – freeze the implementation of the AES until we have reconfiguration and standardized the speed limit nationwide before doing the runs accordingly as then – that will make intelligent sense!
