CASSA CALLS FOR NATIONAL BOYCOTT OF OVER CHARGING RESTAURANTS WHILE LAUNCHING FAIR PRICE STICKER!

Dato Jacob George

CASSA CALLS FOR NATIONAL BOYCOTT OF OVER CHARGING RESTAURANTS WHILE LAUNCHING FAIR PRICE STICKER!

The Consumers Association of Subang and Shah Alam Selangor (CASSA) today called upon Malaysian consumers to boycott all restaurants that are over charging for a basic meal and drinks!

Based on feedbacks from consumers and CASSA’s own Strategic Intervention Survey (CSI) nationwide, it is obvious many quarters have taken liberty to increase food and drink prices without justification.

There are outlets that have raised the price of drinks as high as 30% to 40% without any justification.

While others have decrease the quantity of servings or serve using smaller cups and glasses.

According to CASSA’s CSI – notorious are Indian and Indian Muslim restaurants where the prices have skyrocketed!

It is not uncommon to be charged RM13.50 for a simple fish meal with two vegetables and a drink or Nasi Biryani costing between RM 18.00 to RM24.00 depending on your choice of chicken or mutton!

An order of a Nasi Lemak with a piece of squid can cost between RM13.50

A basic meal for four with chicken or mutton and three vegetables at an Indian restaurant can easily cost RM80.00.

Malaysia’s favorite Teh-Tarik is going now at RM2.00, Nescafe RM3.80 and basically what is written on their price board and charged are two different range of prices.

Plain water is been charged from RM0.50 to RM0.70 cents now!

This is daylight robbery!

This is profiteering and unless Malaysian consumers stand united in this national boycott they will continue to be victimized at these outlets!

To identify consumer sensitive and friendly outlets charging reasonable prices, CASSA will be issuing their CASSA Fair Price Sticker to business outlets nationwide so that consumers can make informed decisions which outlet to patronize!

This will also be extended to hypermarkets and other business outlets in the Peninsula, Sabah and Sarawak.

The CASSA Fair Price Sticker project is expected to be launched by Domestic Trade and Consumers Affairs Minister, Dato Sri Hassan Malek in April 2014 in Kuala Lumpur.

Dr Jacob George: Why Say Silly Things And Allow Interpol To Hit Back At Malaysia?

Dato Jacob George

interpol‘We need to take this seriously.

We have to take responsibility and manage the loopholes and security deficiencies in our country without playing the blame game or worse, give excuses!

It is all about professionalism and competency – and – this has nothing to do with race, religion, creed and other bullshit spins – Got My drift?’

Dr Jacob George: Why Say Silly Things And Allow Interpol To Hit Back At Malaysia?

My contention to our politicians in ‘very high public office’ is simply this!

The check with Interpol database could be integrated with the current passport checking.

It is a procedure warranted post 911 where in a matter of minutes – by asking a computer programmer to add in a few lines of computer codes to check with Interpol databases in addition to the current program certain safeguard mechanisms are put into place!

No rocket science this.

For those who are computer uncomfortable – just key-in say ‘ illegal immigrants’ in Google and 2,790,000 results are searched within 0.25 seconds.

I am advised that this is the speed search engine capability of the internet.

Our Malaysian claim that is too time consuming does not weigh well.

Security of a nation should be our upmost intention!

We have to change from ‘quick fixes’ and ‘bullshit statements’ basically rubbish in this age and time.

We need to take security seriously.

My friend recently visiting the US was called into the office for a biometric identification and was cleared within minutes.

Post 911 taught the most powerful nation on Earth that!

If the US can do this, without causing undue delays, I believe we can too. Immigration officer should be trained to handle such tasks with minimum delays.

We need to take this seriously.

We have to take responsibility and manage the loopholes and security deficiencies in our country without playing the blame game or worse, give excuses!

Malaysia is now paying a heavy price post MH370!

Dr Jacob George: MH370 – IF We Are A Nation In Mourning Why Business As Usual? F1 & Other Celebrations Should Be Cancelled!

Dato Jacob George

‘After all, we have gone on record without collaborative but circumstantial evidence that the flight came to an end in the South Indian Ocean without survivors?

A death certificate without a body of hard evidence?’

Dr Jacob George: MH370 – IF We Are A Nation In Mourning Why Business As Usual? F1 & Other Celebrations Should Be Cancelled!

At the time of writing, international media controversies have already erupted whether we are a nation in mourning, flying our national flag in half mast and certainly cancelling local and international events which includes the F1 to identify ourselves with families of over 239 passengers on board MH370?

After all, we have gone on record without collaborative but circumstantial evidence that the flight came to an end in the South Indian Ocean without survivors?

A death certificate without a body of hard evidence?

Of course, our cyber troopers and spin masters can make a thousand spins but reality bites and here we have not exhibited a sense of loss in the public space though we claim so!

We are told we are waiting for the back box something we may never find or may have nothing to shed new light to answer any of the conspiracy theories and blatant incompetence and a public relations nightmare made internationally public!

In the meantime – while the world’s attention and scrutiny is on Malaysia – should we give them more evidence which gives the perception that ‘it’s business as usual’ and we care the rat’s ass to what is happening here despite claiming – ‘yes it’s a tragedy and we mourn as a nation?’

Dr Jacob George – AJ Should Not Be Made A Scapegoat For Other People’s Blunders!

Will blaming this international tragedy on one head and his resignation change the manner certain cross sections of Malaysians abuse what is a national asset?

Is this organization and business entity totally bloated in staff and the Unions having very strong cables to politicians and powerful individuals in Malaysia?

Are unqualified individuals been employed and those with political cables fast tracked up the promotion tiers and chains of command?

Are there abuses of benefits and privileges that is beholden to the individual instead of to the position until their departure?

Are there supplies and procurement contracts that are engraved in stone that does not make economic or business sense in this age and time?

Say a contract for over 25 years?

Are there contracts been given to families and connections of past Malaysian Prime Ministers?

What about that controversial caterer’s contract the world is talking about?

Any truth in them?

What about having that common touch to be accessible to the consumers the world over and in time of urgency?

What about a loyalty program – are they really reflecting appreciation to the consumers for their loyalty to the brand or just cosmetics in nature?

What about a loyalty service to the brand – are loyal dedicated staff been compensated accordingly?

Or does politics, race and cables decide promotions?

What about the hiring or appointment of senior management staff, board members and policy makers?

To me in short, hiring a name-brand CEO from outside the company who fails is usually a disaster.

The board of directors looks like a group of idiots, and this sad drama only reinforces the increasingly common perception that CEOs are overpaid and that executives and board members are ultimately looking out for their own interests, not the interests of the company.

I am not suggesting that organizations should always hire internal candidates.

Obviously, there have been cases where external CEOs made a huge difference — IBM, for instance — but external candidates come with extremely high risk.

Talent managers should develop an internal successor if at all possible, if only because the need to look outside sends the wrong message about an organization’s leadership development capabilities.

Companies like Malaysian Airlines should ask leaders at all levels to develop talent.

Do we have our own talent embryos?

Every manager has to answer the question, “If you were hit by a bus tomorrow, who could take your place?”

When you, the CEO or senior-level executive, cannot develop your own successor, it indicates you have not been practicing what you preach.

Do you want to send a message that you have not succeeded in something you’ve been asking front line supervisors to do for years?

Yes – heads should roll but the union is barking up the wrong tree!

It is certainly not AJ’s head but others, who from time immemorial have used, abused, raped and acted as scavengers over a national asset – as ‘their own family property!’

I will be saying more in the coming days in my blog and media – but for the record – I think AJ has done remarkably well in view the circumstances (both in the public domain and that which is not) and he should continue until such time, he feels the need for another challenge!

That must be his personal decision and not by been intimidated and defamed!

It must not be because some masquerading ‘hypocrites and pseudo politicians’ are trying to abuse this unfortunate episode of enormous proportions for a hidden clandestine and evil motive and scheme which serves only themselves as always!

The unions all 6 or 7 of them should ask themselves – are they not part and parcel of the organization?

Have they changed their work and business culture and are they themselves competent to fit to the changing climate that has resulted in many of new airline companies showing so much profits and success because they are not subsidy minded, cutting corners and bleeding the company for their own personal and private interest?

And now using this unfortunate episode of enormous proportions for a hidden clandestine and evil motive and scheme which serves only themselves in wanting to get rid of a person who dared to stand up to them and their nonsense?
