ALERT: BADLY TIMED ROAD WORKS MAKE HIGHWAYS DANGEROUS!

‘It never amazes me the lack of foresight, for planning and to address issues so simple and close to the hearts of paying road users!

The bottom line  is between the hazardous conditions, mad heavy vehicle drivers, bus operators, our Mat Rempits and speed traps aplenty – driving on our highways is a real hazard!’ – Dr Jacob George

ALERT: BADLY TIMED ROAD WORKS MAKE HIGHWAY DANGEROUS!
Several years ago former Works Minister Samy Vellu, warned contractors that all roadworks must stop during festivities due to the heavy volume of traffic, to prevent accidents, delays, frustrations, anger to toll paying customers as they use the North South highway!

That was good advice that comes from having one’s thumb on the pulse of the raayat!

What ever your political views may be about him – one thing cannot be denied – Samy Vellu knows his work!

Strange – this was elementary and so basic yet the once great Ministry of Works got it so wrong!

NONEToday’s ‘Maggi Mee politicians’ do not have that touch as they wrestle for political appointments some having no track record except for being great apple polishers!

As a result they make statements, they spin, they carry themselves as if we are  all idiots having no knowledge of what transpires in the ‘power corridors’ of the nation!

So I ask present minister was it difficult to issue  a similar order to please  highway users this time around?

It must have been because as I drove from Kuala Lumpur to Sungei Petani I experienced unnecessary hardship and jams due to the decision of contractors still working on huge stretches and in some cases without road signs creating a dangerous situation for drivers less experienced which could have a major impact on other unsuspecting drivers!

It never amazes me the lack of foresight, for planning and to address issues so simple and close to the hearts of paying road users!

The bottom line  is between the hazardous conditions, mad heavy vehicle drivers, bus operators, our Mat Rempits and speed traps aplenty – driving on our highways is a real hazard!

Should have taken the train – but – knowing KTMB it could be another hustle I could do without this Christmas break!
