CONSUMERIST – MPs TOLD INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION NEEDED INTO HOSPITAL WOES!

The collapse of roofs in multi million ringgit hospitals after alleged suspicious cost over-runs is no cause of worry?

Certainly too when floors give way, lifts malfunction, cracks and more cracks appear?

When lifts don not work, toilets are clogged and door are broken due to substandard materials used?

These are all ‘part and parcel’ of the huge tolerance we give to Malaysian crony contractors?

What about incompetent security guards owned allegedly by a politician and sitting Parliamentary whose contract of service gets inexplicable renewed year after year?

Has there being any police reports made by members of the civil society to urge police investigations when these horrible things happen?

Are investigations and the said panel investigating having independent members from the civil society?

No?

Why not?

No, political party members certainly cannot be cooped as members!

Conflict of interest – maa..aaaaaaa?

Never heard not bothered?

So you want apple polishers and suck up specialists?

It is our entire fault for being so tolerant when business and politics mix!

And in the case of the multi million hospital or ‘white elephant’ called Serdang Hospital – we are told that the findings of the investigation on the collapse of its ceiling in the main lobby will determine the actual party that should bear the cost of repair!

The cost to repair and replace the 2,500 sq meter ceiling is estimated at RM800, 000?

But instead of really tightening up quality, professionalism, investigate whether the collapse was caused by a structural, design or maintenance failure and looking critically selection process zero tolerant of crony contractors the type that gives kickbacks in the form of money luxury vehicles for one’s wives, paid holidays, exclusive club memberships and a shopping sphere around shopping destinations from Monte Carlo, France, Singapore, Hong Kong, the European Union countries, China, Italy and the US we instead say like an idiot – ‘the ministry will propose for the ceiling to be replaced by a type of ceiling that is lighter and easy to maintain?’

So what happened to all the EKRAs, KPIs, NKRAs?

So while we are on the same subject may I give hint that another multi million hospital which is Selayang Hospital is also having its fair share of major cock ups from clogged and uncorking toilets, lifts malfunction, doors broken and other horrors associated to giving a construction to crony contractors close and intimate to decision makers?

And while I am on a run here – has the contract on Radicare been extended?

Gosh – the travesty of it all?

And what happened to the investigation into a specialist who gave out hospital contracts to companies linked to him?

And what about investigation into the stupid behavior of ‘Political Secretaries’ and other ‘unqualified individuals’ hereinafter called idiots – ‘interfering in administrative, technical, clinical management and procedures involving patients?’

Gosh – I really miss former Director of Health Services Tan Sri Dr Ismail Merican!
