‘If Malaysian politicians want to be respected, looked upon as intelligent and trustworthy – they must begin to carry themselves in a dignified manner and address issues in a manner that is palatable and in line with international convention!
There must be dignity and decorum!’
Consumerist: ‘Calls To Ban Facebook As It Poses A National Security?’ How To Take Our Politicians Seriously If They Make Stupid Statements Like This?
Has the Malaysian government set up an independent body of professionals to conduct surveillance and intelligence gathering which showed without an iota of doubt, that facebook is a national threat?
Has that report if any been tabled at the highest level of government and allowed to be debated at the nation’s highest court – the Parliament?
Thirdly, since when is online attacks if any against politicians a national threat?
I think we can apple polish (bodek) our political bosses in better way for giving our dead political life a resurrection rather than in this crude way?
If statements made are malicious and untrue – We have various laws in Malaysia to deal with that starting with defamation!
So you see, I find it quite laughable that the man in the middle of today’s parliament statements and barbs is fast becoming perceived as an idiot, rightly or wrongly!
If Malaysian politicians want to be respected, looked upon as intelligent and trustworthy – they must begin to carry themselves in a dignified manner and address issues in a manner that is palatable and in line with international convention!
There must be dignity and decorum!
They must be consistent too – not addressing the same when minorities and their religions are attacked as was in a recent case with the regulators been quoted as sounding helpless but sound heroic when it concerns them?
This raises many questions among which is are you representing 1Malaysia there in Parliament or a certain race?
To cut the chase – if anyone uses any mediums and breaks Malaysian laws I am certain that individual must be made accountable (not the medium) and until in a court of law which finds him/her guilty of that alleged offense they have rights too not to be penalized by our well plotted and initiated and outsourced trial by media and threats!
May I humbly refer these politicians to a popular Malaysian peribahasa – which fits the situation: Pepatah ‘kerana nyamuk, kelambu dibakar’
