‘IF you think you are doing a great job go tell it to the over 65% increase in respiratory ailments, those having breathing difficulties, individuals who are now captive in their own homes, students who cannot go to school, go out play, senior citizens who cannot go out walk by the lake side, or others suffering economic loss which they can ill afford at this time!’ – Dr Jacob George CASSA CHIEF
‘Thank you and may god bless you for having so much love for concern for all of us…infact i am also a captive in my own home n feel very sad for those who have to leave home n also concerned for all the outside animals inhaling this rotten air…’ Mercy Williams from Penang
‘Someone must initiate a major class action against these buggers!’ Danny WK
‘Truly and strongly said my dear Dato Jacob George..your words really strikes accurately on the nails..(pun intended for those politician and policymakers)..i am not good with words here but reading your posts, i admire your guts and love for mankind..god bless you for what you are doing for all of us’ – Nallinie Ravindran – Ipoh, Perak
Consumerist: Haze Holds Malaysians And Tourists Captive And Anger Mounts At Incompetence!
Several politicians and policymakers were aghast with me in the manner I seem to take the lead in this haze situation as they put it been ‘a prophet of doom’ hammering all and sundry!
They are upset I called them incompetent, stupid and irresponsible!
I would have used stronger words IF I had not recently had a conversion experience!
But, I will not defend myself – I will not defend myself for doing what is right, honorable, to be hands on, – and – from feedbacks from those on facebook and reading my blog at http://www.drjacobgeorge.com/ far more individuals, organizations, agencies and groups in and out of the country are happy with my work so I will not bother with those ashamed that they have been monitored and found to be wanting!
IF you think you are doing a great job go tell it to the over 65% increase in respiratory ailments, those having breathing difficulties, individuals who are now captive in their own homes, students who cannot go to school, go out play, senior citizens who cannot go out walk by the lake side, or others suffering economic loss which they can ill afford at this time!
Go tell it to tourists from the middle east prior to Ramadan who paid a bomb to come here but now upset and made captives in their hotel rooms and whose travel plans have all gone haywire!
Go tell it to others who had to cancel their bookings and hotel reservations and suffered loss and logistic nightmares!
Why target the messenger?
Get my drift!
Yesterday I also spoke to senior management of private and international schools and warned them not to upset consumers and me – they seem to have taken the clue, ‘seen the light’, ‘alleluia’ – and have now agreed to close!
Last night my team and I already had indications that we are in for a nightmare and truly as expected the Air Pollutant Index (API) in Port Klang hit hazardous level this morning with a reading of 487, while the air quality is “very unhealthy” all over the Klang Valley.
The API reading in Port Klang has worsened significantly after it breached 314 at 3pm yesterday.
The Department of Environment (DOE) reported at 7am that the air quality in Selangor – Banting (292), Shah Alam (289), Kuala Selangor (242) and Petaling Jaya (213) – has also degraded.
Perak also saw an API reading breaching the 300 mark, with Seri Manjung showing 288.
According to the API, a reading of 0-5 denotes good air quality; 51-100 (moderate); 101-200 (unhealthy); 201-300 (very unhealthy); above 301 (hazardous to human health).
So If you think I am going to be apologetic for my outburst you are sadly mistaken!
