Only crooks do not want to be regulated!

They want the “old ways” where they can exploit the unsuspecting workers in Nepal, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and other source countries!

They want to be able to charge exploitative fees for low paying jobs, suspects approvals, bogus companies so that they can continue to lead their bourgeoisie lifestyles!

They have organized themselves in many countries through politicians, lobbyists, street brawlers, bogus agents, policymakers, opposition politicians, human resources practitioners of companies by huge payments of commissions from their ill-gotten gains to the former!

So when change comes in the form of accountability, transparency and a system of check and balances they fear their lion share of unscrupulous activities will be curtailed and they will lose out!

They organize themselves and strike back by fabrication, deception, baseless allegations and outright lies to protect their turf from been regulated!

They pay huge sums of monies to “pens for hire” to write frivolous, defamatory and outright lies under pseudo names which does not give victims a chance to take libel proceedings against these faceless shenanigans!

And that is what is happening in Malaysia as the government decides to go forward to address corruption, seepage and abuse running into billions by bringing a new fool proof computerized system to manage the manpower industry which has a notorious reputation in Malaysia as elsewhere!

What happens with this system – fake passports, fake medicals certificates, criminals and human trafficking will all be detected!

Those who have a criminal track record will be detected as this system is linked with international regulators monitoring illegalities of all forms and terrorism!

Those carrying multiple passport will be detected and with the system, in place the honest industry players can manage their practice with the highest safety features knowing that their organization does not harbor criminals or identity snatchers!

So a battle is going on between the manpower shenanigans masquerading as “honest manpower agents” and those spearheading holistic change!

This is a multi-billion ringgit industry and these shenanigans are connected to the underworld and not cash strapped so we can expect a long drawn war with them with their unlimited resources!

We must also take action against those who aid and abet corruption be they policymakers and over the counter staff!

We must protect Malaysia from these scums whose actions have tarnished the nations image abroad as we are repeatedly cited in international forums on the trafficking and exploitation of workers radar reports!

It is time we allow holistic change to take place even if there is a costs involved If it prevents all forms and shapes of corrupt and exploitation of workers!
