‘Worst, all peace loving and law abiding Malaysians and I now ask, what are we teaching our kids at school that they have come out so vile, so disgusting and so trash!’ CASSA Chief Dr Jacob George
Consumerist: Suzuki Cup: FIFA And The AFC Should Take Action Against Despicable Behavior Of Malaysian Football Spectators!
IT was a despicable behavior and worst, there was no sanctions from our overzealous Malaysian guardians of public and for that matter private morality!
There was no lambasting that such despicable behavior would not be tolerated in the mainstream media either!
There was no official statement from anybody here warning that such behavior would not be tolerated in this age and time!
No warning, no sanction whatsoever!
As IF it was nothing wrong to behave as they did that day!
There are enough examples around the world already the more recent FIFA’s and the English Football Associations clampdown on racism and hooliganism!
There even the Police got involved!
What a difference the way certain jurisdiction handle such despicable and racist issues while in others it is deemed alright by a sick demograph who is guided by a false sense of superiority!
I am now certain FIFA the world football body and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) would be tasked to look at this rather sickening behavior!
Yes, I am referring to the manner both the football team representing Singapore and their traveling fans at the stadium were left feeling angry and hurt after being labelled “dogs” by Malaysian spectators during their weekend AFF Suzuki Cup win!
And IF some bankrupt self serving Malaysian official needs proof go check out that well distributed and seen video posted on YouTube that shows thousands of Malaysian fans chanting “Singapore itu anjing” (Singapore are dogs) during Sunday’s group game in Kuala Lumpur, when Singapore beat the defending Southeast Asian champions 3-0.
The incident caught on YouTube had been viewed nearly 200,000 times online.
Across the causeway Singapore’s New Paper, described the chant as “vile!”
I had met several Singaporeans since that ‘Black Day’ in Malaysian sports history and frankly, I cannot but be angry as the Singaporeans were our visitors, there were only about 1000 and we had half a stadium full of idiots and racists calling the Singaporeans dogs!
What has happened to the so called Malaysian hospitality?
It is as if Singapore is our arch enemy when the history and relationships are intertwined!
It was utter stupidity that was displayed that day!
And as If the heavens had heard the Singaporean’s prayers Singapore thrashed Malaysia 3 -0!
As a Singaporean stated it is a pity that Malaysia had difficulty even beating dogs in soccer
Worst, all peace loving and law abiding Malaysians and I now ask what are we teaching our kids at school that they have come out so vile, so disgusting and so trash!
