Consumerist: Truth A Causality In Malaysian Politics!
Several of us met this morning over a cuppa to examine recent events that are shaping Malaysian politics and events!
One thing is certain the ground and political allegiance has indeed shifted!
Not because the opposition are doing a great job!
The unanimous decision is that our mainstream politicians, their handlers, spin-masters, advisers (both local and foreign), those tasked to manage public policy and issues have got it wrong!
It is strange that ‘the elephant in the room’ is unseen either intentionally, or by design, or due to residues of arrogance or plain stupidity or a mixture of all which makes it a strong powerful brew!
Whether it is the NFC, the government land sold to politicians and cronies , the hated AES, the re-runs of high powered corruption and abuse, political executive abuse or the strange manipulation and abuse of race relations and religion for political expediency, issues related to the Education Act 1961, Indigenous people’s religious and land rights, air traffic radar failure, airline and passenger safety, basic issues of consumerism – they have got it all wrong!
Our lies and double standards have caught up with us!
How else can one interpret the comments of the EC deputy on foreign election monitors or observers when he himself has been party to similar stints?
How else can you interpret the actions of policymakers ‘chasing out’ and treating Malaysian talents who have served the nation in dedication, sacrifice and commitment with utter contempt on the one breath and in another going away to Australia and the developed world to entice, woo, plead those who had left the nation for greener pastures to return promising ‘heaven and goodies…?’
How else can you interpret monies available for political goodies but the lack of for essential medication in our public hospitals?
How else can you interpret the presence of ‘policymakers and guard keepers’ – individuals who you had respect for once, now after retirement, working with ‘shady characters’ in the private sector?
Have we become a nation of double speak, hypocrisy, double standards, and – where TRUTH HAS BEEN SACRIFICED AT THE ALTARS OF POLITICAL EXPEDIENCY AND PROFITS?
