C RYING SHAME – BUS CARNAGE PLAYS SECOND FIDDLE TO POLITICAL SPIN!
One lead mainstream newspaper made it the main story and rightly so while another indulged in its usual pastime attacking opposition led states on reclamation issues and political comments!
Of course this does not surprise me as these academicians have also given their ‘pathetic two cents worth’ in other programs including TV3 and Astro!
No, I have nothing against academicians making a political comment provided they are fair and consistent addressing wrongdoings from both political divides!
But the truth is, they do not ‘have the balls to do it’ and they show their ‘Dutch courage’ only against the opposition!
Maybe a ‘professorship’ is being tabled and negotiated?
As for the said newspaper what can I say – they practice a vulgar form of journalism and are ’specialist’ at spins, no wonder politicians call on them to spin stories even when they are in hospital!
It is a small world today and word gets around but who cares some say as it is better to cater where your bread is buttered, where foreign trips on delegations are made certain and the honorifics keep coming!
Shameless piece of journalism but who cares!
But let us get back  to this road carnage!
It is certainly obvious that Malaysia cannot get pass a festivity without reading about road carnage!
In the recent carnage 27 people were killed when their bus hit a divider and overturned on its way down from Cameron Highlands in what is possibly the worst road accident in Malaysian history.
The tragedy at KM15 of the Cameron Highland-Simpang Pulai road claimed the lives of 25 Thai nationals who had been on a holiday in the hill resort.
We are advised that there were a total of 37 people on board at the time, 34 were Thai holidaymakers from Bangkok and three others Malaysians so Malaysia’s Tourism Minister will be quite busy addressing the fallout on this one!
The double-decker bus was heading from Cameron Highlands towards Kuala Lumpur at 11.40am yesterday.
We are told as if we are children that the said driver was trying to negotiate a sharp bend but failed, causing the bus to hit a divider before overturning.
I will say nothing more safe to say this is again a disgrace and the least I expect is for our authorities to for once shut up from making promises and clean up their act be they a ministry, a commission or what ever since Malaysia has so many agencies and people on payroll that this is a mockery!
If in China – some one would have been shot!
In Malaysia we make them Chairman of GLCs, of commissions, give them another fancy title with the obese perks that come with it!
After all – we are all but political pretenders!
Each trying to impress the other with utter bullshit and we do it with style!
