MALAYSIA ASEAN APEC LEAD CONSUMERIST LAUDS TOURISM MINISTER NANCY SHUKRI’S MOVES ON COVID-19!
Time is of the essence, and, while some are busy playing golf, others setting up task forces, some awaiting for round table and square table discussions, feedback and more meetings, newly minted Tourism Minister and dear friend, Nancy Shukri acts with strategic sheath precision to close all public facilities under the tourism, arts and culture ministry until the end of April.
I was updated that the decision was taken in the public interest and public health concerns and to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
I have been advised by senior officials that all heads of the Tourism Ministry’s departments and agencies have been directed to close and disinfect their public facilities!
Among the closed facilities include the Department of Museums Malaysia, National Visual Arts Development Board, National Heritage Department, National Archives of Malaysia, Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation, National Library of Malaysia, Department of Culture, Arts and Heritage, Malaysia Tourism Centre and Istana Budaya!
If you want to talk about leadership – this is leadership!
We are at war here against a deadly strain of virus and here we have a minister very hard at work taking the lead to walk the telephone lines, go to the epicenters and direct her officials into fast track action!
There is no room for incompetence neither wasting time nor resources!
On behalf of CASSA MALAYSIA, I called and congratulated her on this fast track action and offered our assistance whenever needed!
