MINIMUM WAGE CONTROVERSY & LEGAL THREAT – MALAYSIA ASEAN APEC LEAD CONSUMERIST ASKS GOVERNMENT TO RELEASE WHAT TOP MANAGEMENT EARNS IN PRIVATE INDUSTRY!

‘It cannot happen because for one, several human resource directors, operators and decision makers will throw in the spanners as they are heavily paid off by manpower agents, directly, indirectly and through proxies!

And face it, the sad excuse that any increase in the minimum wage consideration will erode the confidence of investors is super bullshit!’

MINIMUM WAGE CONTROVERSY & LEGAL THREAT – MALAYSIA ASEAN APEC LEAD CONSUMERIST ASKS GOVERNMENT TO RELEASE WHAT TOP MANAGEMENT EARNS IN PRIVATE INDUSTRY!

‘It cannot happen because for one, several human resource directors, operators and decision makers will throw in the spanners as they are heavily paid off by manpower agents, directly, indirectly and through proxies!”

No, I have not had an opportunity to liaise with newly minted Malaysia’s Human Resources Minister M. Kulasegaran as I did with his predecessors though we greeted each other at the Parliament lobby area post GE14!

I was delighted when he announced that going forward workers across the country can expect to the minimum monthly wage to be set at RM1500.00.

I am certain there is a process put into motion where the government is discussing this and other issues those impacts workers in the country.

I spoke at length on this matter abroad with policymakers in resource countries who I knew for decades, with the media and cited that any review on wages in the country must take into cognizance factors like determination of wage rates, the ability to pay, the demand and supply, the Malaysian labor market conditions or demand and supply forces to operate at the national and local levels and determine the wage rates, the prevailing market rates, the cost of living, how influential and bargaining of trade unions to cite a few.

Of course, we have created terms as well that of – ‘the standardized wage’ which we are told is a compromise between conduits to guarantee and protect job opportunities for the locals?

This is why I am now against the back door created for foreign workers to land in Malaysia which serves no long term interests for the country on all fronts!

It just helps the super fat cats of industry!

The social impact and security threats are just mind boggling, more so now having removed important security features put in place in the employment of foreign workers in Malaysia!

The current minimum wage is RM1100.00 post budget 2019.

I found it hilarious that a certain “employers group” was quoted in a report mulling legal action against Putrajaya for not following the law in revising the minimum wage to RM1100.00

They are super lucky that they were not dealing with me!

I would have said bring it on and tomorrow asked the government to release the salary structure of all executives and senior managements in the country that includes MNCs and TNCs and the perks they enjoy!

Let us see the disparities.

Let us see what the top end earns in comparison to the bottom end!

I agree that businesses need consistency and finality but we need to also look at the earning power of the top cats in the industry as against the bottom end.

For far too long our employers have had it super good!

The hunt with the hounds and run with the hares!

They look for a quick fix and that means foreign cheap labor instead of helping the nation of employing locals and at a higher bracket with perks of training and technology transfers.

It cannot happen because for one, several human resource directors, operators and decision makers will throw in the spanners as they are heavily paid off by manpower agents, directly, indirectly and through proxies!
And face it, the sad excuse that any increase in the minimum wage consideration will erode the confidence of investors is super bullshit!

I will declare an all-out war against these protectionists, this new colonist if they decide to take legal action!

We will mobilize a response from workers nationwide!

I am more interested to protect the rights interests and real felt needs of Malaysia’s B40 group who by all counts are a super vulnerable group!
