‘When my life was repeatedly threatened, my car vandalized by the cartels involved in the theft of sand, or scams and the black economy word was sent out that I be protected from any harm.’
GOVT URGED TO EXTENT IGP’S TENURE IN OFFICE BY A YEAR TO LEAD WAR AGAINST THE CARTELS IN MALAYSIA APPEALS MALAYSIA ASEAN APEC LEAD CONSUMERIST PROF DR JACOB GEORGE
Throughout my career as a lead consumerist spanning 40 years, I had the privilege and honor of working with many home ministers, starting with Tun Musa Hitam and certainly the nation’s top cops!
Our relationships have always been of cordiality, warmth and respect.
All of them from time immemorial had been protective of me and worried for my safety as I addressed many critical, security and life threatening issues.
When my life was repeatedly threatened, my car vandalized by the cartels involved in the theft of sand, or scams and the black economy word was sent out that I be protected from any harm.
That respect and mutual cordiality still exist till today and I am truly grateful to both the Home Minister Dato’ Seri Hamzah bin Zainudin and our IGP.
I have a lot of respect for current Inspector-General of Police and dear friend, Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador!
I admire his professionalism, his no nonsense approach and zero tolerance for any corrupt activity.
As such I am further delighted hearing his assurance that the police will not allow itself to be controlled by any groups, internal or external.
He also spoke of a movement that wanted to bring him down and aspired to control the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
This cannot be allowed to happen!
The IGP’s statement had surrounded four key areas of a clear and present danger to the image of the security apparatus in Malaysia and our image globally as a nation that upheld the law.
It was very brave for the IGP to state what many of us had suspected long ago but unable to do anything.
- That powerful and prominent individuals with Tan Sri and other honorifics ‘were running Malaysia’s drug cartels
- Of cartels within and externally manipulating the administrative and management portfolios of promotions within the Malaysian Police Force
- That corruption and corrupt practices exist within and even at the highest positions within.
- And finally that the IGP and other dedicated and professional clean cops are now targets of the said cartels.
As an individual and the country lead consumerist who has and continues to serve my country I appeal to our beloved King, current Prime Minister, our Home Minister to immediately take steps to extend IGP Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador tenure of office by another year to address this clear and present danger!
The issues herein are extremely serious and involve national and homeland security.
And the IGP’s extension of tenure a much needed step in this war against our internal enemies of state!
So that he can pick a high powered team to go to war against those who now threaten us!
