CASSA CHIEF PLANS TO MEET HOME, LAW MINISTER AND CHIEF JUSTICE ON RECENT TROUBLING ISSUES ON JUSTICE DISPOSAL MECHANISMS AND SECURITY.
I have been a human and consumer rights advocate for over 40 years.
I have addressed a wide range of issues from the late 70’s.
Neither I nor my works are strangers to the Malaysian government or others in the corridors of power within the ASEAN, APEC and other frameworks.
We are constantly on the ground, assisting, addressing, facilitating recourse and even intervening on various public policy initiatives, deliberations and shaping opinions and redress mechanisms wherever needed.
I work very closely with government agencies and their heads.
We have always been consistent, dedicated, carry ourselves with dignity and decorum.
I have received threats, death threats; there has been criminal damage on my vehicle which is all well documented.
There were many occasions where our home ministers and IGPs were worried for my safety.
We have always worked pro bono to help these threatened, marginalized and in harm’s way by ‘big bullies!’
However of late we are troubled on allegations of abuse, distortion, intimidation, falsification of documents, of rising CBT, sexual harassment, the usage of touts that are also raised.
And the usual rhetoric and lip service given by various gatekeepers which ends nowhere!
We are disturbed when dirty tactics are used to either criminalize or smear an individual seeking justice.
When concerted efforts are made to hurt the reputation of an individual who has suffered domestic violence or other tragedies over the years in its various forms.
Who may have finally gained courage to flee the abusers, make Police Reports, attain an interim protection order only to see further challenge where protocols are abused, dignity decorum waylaid, where ambush, destroy, intimidation, tarnish the victim becomes the hallmark using falsified and misleading documents.
What is shocking when some of these actors are professionals and others masquerading as “human rights ambassadors?”
Some in conflict of interest situations?
We hope to have an intimate conversation with those we love and respect as our social net, our protectors namely, the home minister, the IGP, the law Minister and our beloved chief Justice.
We will present our concerns through a dossier so that issues troubling us well documented will be at their disposal to initiate a response.
We will carry out our responsibilities with dedication, dignity, decorum and honesty.
