HAVE SOME SELF RESPECT FOR US AND YOU MALAYSIA ASEAN APEC LEAD CONSUMERIST PROF DR JACOB GEORGE AS HE APPEALS TO THE CLOSING DOWN OF MERU TOP GLOVE.
First and foremost I am not the enemy here.
I am not a politician!
However I will be failing in my duty of care as Malaysia’s leading consumerist if I do not highlight what is being circulated in the public domain as Malaysia suffers a big time crisis in truth management!
These questions were highlighted by a concerned individual:
- Why the Government does hid the facts from the people?
- We want to know has the Top Glove cases spread to the community.
- Where has it spread?
- How is the Government going to control it?
- Why is Top Glove still operating?
- When will Top Glove be locked down?
It was also alleged which I feel had some truths in it when it was stated the Government should be more transparent about what is happening instead of trying to hide things from the people.
So the fear of politician and Meru assemblyperson Mohd Fakhrulrazi Mokhtar calling on Top Glove’s factories located along Jalan Teratai in Meru, Klang to be temporarily closed as a Covid-19 cluster linked to its workers there nears 1,500 cases has merit!
Questions are also raised if there was favoritism in this matter.
Or are profits taking precedence over life, death and infection issues?
The Teratai cluster yesterday reported 504 new cases with 502 in Selangor and two in Kuala Lumpur.
This contributed to the spike of cases in Selangor which recorded a total of 604 cases yesterday.
The latest total for the Teratai cluster is 1,457 cases.
It is also the third-largest active Covid-19 cluster in the country after the Tembok cluster and Kepayan Prison cluster, both of which involved prisons.
The glove maker management has been quite invisible in the current crisis management perhaps, having sourced it out to third parties and clusters?
I have personally received calls from those in power in Nepal and also other stakeholders.
International groups addressing compliance issues have also contacted me for feedbacks.
I have continued to defend the government handling of the issue but now it is looked upon as a ‘runaway train?’
Has truth become a victim on the altars of obese profits?
With the current infection statistics one would question Top Glove’s claims of a ‘safe working environment?’
I am now appealing to dear friend, dedicated and no nonsense tolerating Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Ismail Sabri Yaakob that all 28 Top Glove factories in Klang, Selangor, been ordered to immediately closed!
